HOKA Gaviota 5 Women's Road - Running Shoes review
Last year, the New Balance More V4 was the real deal in the commuting shoe world. It was like the all - around champ. But this year, out of nowhere, the Hoka Gaviota 5 comes along as its first big competitor.
You know, Hoka has been really pushing the "commuting shoes" thing for ages. They've been all over that keyword. But when it comes down to it, most of their shoes just don't cut it for commuting. The Bondi? It's way too soft. The Clifton? No support at all. The Arahi? The mid - sole wears out super fast. And the Gaviota? It's so bulky and it feels like it's pinching your feet. Plus, none of their shoes have good traction. So, yeah, they're just not right for getting around on a daily basis.
But this new Gaviota 5 is different. They've fixed how the shoe gives you support. Now it's way stiffer and it lasts longer. They changed the material in the mid - sole, and man, it's a lot lighter. And they got the balance right, so your feet don't feel like they're dragging. And compared to the old one, the front part of the shoe bends a whole lot easier.
The Gaviota series? It's HOKA's top - notch stable support running shoes. If you've got flat feet or your feet turn in too much when you run, or if you're just starting out running and you're on the heavier side, these shoes are for you. They're great for those long runs over 10 kilometers, whether you're training or just jogging.
