KEEN Newport H2 Sandals - Kids vs Whisper, What's the Deal?

Guys, I dunno what got into me, but lately I've been really into those funny - looking, yet super - cute shoes. Summer's coming up fast, so I quickly grabbed two pairs. I was so stuck between the two that I couldn't decide, so I just said, "What the heck," and bought both!

This time it was the KEEN Newport H2 Sandals - Kids. The regular Newport is a bit on the pricey side. I read online that the kids' version is almost half the cost, which is a pretty sweet deal. I usually wear a US 6.5. For this, I got a size 7 (EU 37.5) for the Whisper and a size 6 (EU 38) for the kids' Newport.

First off, the looks. The Whisper is way more lightweight, thin, and dainty. The back of the heel's not covered, and the toe part's smaller. The whole shoe seems narrower than the Newport, maybe 'cause it's half a size smaller. The sole's really solid, not like the Newport, which has that squishy "walking - on - clouds" feel. But the sole thickness is about the same for both. Lengthwise, they both fit fine, no toe - jamming. But since the Whisper's narrow, if you want it to be comfy, I'd say go half a size up. If your feet aren't super thin and you like wearing socks, you might even wanna go a whole size up. Girls with thin feet will look really cute in the Whisper, like, totally nailing that trendy look.

Now, the kids' Newport. It's wider all around, but the strap - and - buckle thing keeps it from being all loosey - goosey. It's really comfortable. The back of the heel's covered (the regular one's open), and the toe part's bigger. If you don't like showing your toes or you're worried about your heel getting cold, this is the one for you. And it's easier to put on and take off than the regular Newport. Just stick and un - stick the straps, and you're set.

Price - wise, the Whisper's a lot cheaper, almost the same as the kids' Newport. It's a great deal.

Overall, for how they feel on my feet, I like the Whisper better. The solid sole makes it feel really stable. But if I think about wearing socks and being comfortable for a long time, I'll probably keep the Newport. The covered heel's nice, and you can wear it in spring and fall, too. And the kids' one can be thrown in the washing machine, which is awesome for lazy folks like me. The Whisper's got a waterproof thing going on. I mean, it might seem a bit silly for sandals, but hey, it's something.

If you're stuck between these two like I was, hope this helps you pick the perfect summer sandals for you!
