StockX has made a push into beauty by announcing a partnership with makeup brand Revlon.

The popular resale platform has teamed up with the cosmetic brand to sell limited edition lip glosses, eyeshadow palettes and other beauty products.

StockX’s first beauty “drop” will include a Revlon collaboration with female rap star and Revlon ambassador Megan Thee Stallion and will only release 450 sets.

Revlon is the first makeup brand to sell a collection on the resale platform and will offer a new experience for beauty enthusiasts.

The news comes as StockX shared its mid-year 2021 report on resale culture and emerging trends in the secondary market.

The cosmetic drop comes at a good time after the report found that over the past 18 months, the growth of female users was increasing.

According to the research, a StockX user was 2 times as likely to be a woman after the start of the pandemic.

Around 70 percent of the platform’s users are still under the age of 35, but the number of consumers in the bracket 45 and over has increased by 90 per cent, according to the study.

StockX chief economist Jesse Einhorn highlighted the importance of brand collaborations in growing brands and the the platform.

“A few years ago, Crocs and Birkenstock were barely on StockX’s radar. Today they’re surging on the secondary market thanks to product collabs with established brands like Kith and Stüssy and artists like Post Malone, Justin Bieber, and Bad Bunny,” he said.
