HOKA Mach 6 Road-Running Shoes - Women's review
Hey, I just wrapped up 100 kilometers in my HOKA Mach6 running shoes, and let me tell you, it's been quite a ride. One time, I'd only run about 2 kilometers outside when I realized the soles had gotten all stiff. I was like, "No way," and quickly headed back inside to hit the treadmill.
In 2024, these shoes were my go - to for speed training. They're like the jack - of - all - trades of running shoes. I could do interval training at a 4 - minute - per - kilometer pace, and then switch right over to a slow, easy 7 - minute - per - kilometer LSD run.
Let me start by talking about what I like about these shoes:
1. Great Bounce - Back and Smooth Roll:These shoes have some serious bounce. And when you run, they roll forward really smoothly. You notice it big - time in the spring and summer. It's like your feet are getting a little extra push with every step.
2. Nice Upper: Snug and Breezy:The part of the shoe that covers your foot fits just right. It hugs your feet, but it's not too tight. And it's so thin and breathable. Even if you're running for a long time, your feet don't get all sweaty and gross.
But, like any shoes, they're not perfect. Here are the things I'm not too crazy about:
1. Narrow Fit and No Wide Option:The shoes are kind of narrow. If you've got wider feet, they might feel a bit cramped. And here in the States, we don't have the option to get a wider version. That's a bummer.
2. Weather - Dependent Feel:The soles are made of this EVA super - foamy stuff, but it's still EVA. And man, does the temperature mess with how they feel. When it's over 30℃ in the summer, the soles get all soft, and the bounce back slows down. It's like they turn into regular old jogging shoes. Then, in the winter, when it gets below 15℃, the soles get really hard. The shock absorption and bounce just aren't as good. That's exactly why I had to switch to the treadmill when I felt the soles getting stiff.
