Burberry opens new London flagship store at No.1 Sloane Street

Burberry has opened the doors to its first flagship store to feature its new global design concept at 1 Sloane Street in London’s Knightsbridge.

The 9224sq ft, three-floor corner store is part of the Knightsbridge Estate’s new development in west London.

Once finished, the development will feature seven flagship retail units with Burberry being the first to open, as well as 67,000sq ft of offices, 33 luxury rental apartments, and a rooftop restaurant.

The SW1 postcode has historical ties for the heritage retailer as its founder Thomas Burberry opened the very first London store in SW1 over 100 years ago.

Designed in collaboration with architect Vincenzo De Cotiis, Burberry said the new store design is intended to encapsulate the luxury positioning of the Burberry brand.

The concept is set to be rolled out to three more stores over the next 12 months. At rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, Plaza 66 in Shanghai and another British outpost, on London’s Bond Street.
