Chanel POUDRE UNIVERSELLE LIBRE Natural Finish Loose Powder 10 review

So, a while back, I managed to get my hands on this Chanel loose powder in shade 10. It had been out of stock forever, and I was stoked when it finally came back in. Check it out, I'm just gonna show you the pics I took. I used my phone's regular camera and took close - up shots of my face, so you can see for yourself.

This powder is really something. It doesn't get all cakey on me, and it stays put for a good while. I had a little issue with powder flying off around my nose, but that was my fault 'cause I didn't blend my foundation well there. Once it's on my face, it gives this super nice matte look. In the summer, you definitely gotta set your makeup with this, or else your face will turn into an oil slick. I ended up reapplying the powder twice throughout the day. The container is huge! I swapped out the puff it came with and started using a CPB puff instead. It works great - just pick up the powder and press it on, and it's all good.

The first day I used it, my skin wasn't in the best shape. I was going back and forth between using the brush and the puff that came with it, and my makeup looked all kinds of wonky later. But the next day, I used the CPB puff, and man, the makeup on my face was so matte and looked really natural, like you could barely tell there was powder on. It's like the makeup effect of MUF, but it controls oil better. I couldn't really tell if the powder was super fine or not when it was on my face. After using it for a few days, I can say it's pretty solid. No major problems like powder getting stuck in my lines or floating on top of my skin.

I went to Chanel to buy some gifts, and guess what? My old powder compact was completely used up. I always say I'll use something up before getting a new one, but this was the perfect excuse to get a new setting powder. I'd had this Chanel one on my wishlist for a while. I couldn't decide which shade to get, so I asked the salesperson to help me out. She let me try shade 10 and shade 12.

Shade 10 is supposed to be clear, but it kind of made my face look a little whiter. It was a bit too much for me, like it stood out. Maybe if you have really fair skin, it would be a good fit. Then I tried shade 12 on the other side of my face, and I knew right away I had to get it. Shade 12 made me look like I had this healthy, rosy glow. The setting power is the same for both shades, but 12 just worked better for me. It made my face look all cute and full - looking, but not overdone.

The way it sets my makeup is really nice, like a soft, velvety finish. I sweat a lot, and I have combination - oily skin, but this powder lasted six or seven hours on me, which is pretty good. I read some reviews saying it might leak powder. Since it's so big, I don't usually take it out with me. If you're worried about the powder spilling from the sieve, you can just cut a little bit of it off, so not as much powder comes out. I'm still getting used to using loose powder 'cause I'm used to powder compacts. I'm thinking about trying a brush to apply it later. I've been using the original puff that came with it so far.

When I first saw the box, I was like, "Whoa!" I knew it was big, but seeing it in person, it's seriously as big as my palm. It's gonna last me a long time, I'm sure.
