My Take on the Arc'teryx Ionia Merino Wool Men's Short-Sleeve Shirt
So, I usually rock an L in all Arc'teryx gear, and it fits me like a glove. But this Ionia Merino Wool Logo Base Layer Shirt? The L was huge and super long. And get this, I'm into fitness, so my upper body's already on the larger side. I really think they didn't take Asian body types into account when they designed this thing.
I was so annoyed, I decided to get it altered. Big mistake! I messed it up. So, I had to buy an M, and guess what? It fits perfectly! Check out the pics, it looks great.
This is my first time trying a wool short - sleeve. The material is crazy soft, and it feels totally different from cotton or those quick - dry fabrics. It's really comfortable, and I didn't feel any of that itchy stuff people talk about with wool. I've been training athletes every day, and at the end of the day, my shirt doesn't stink.
But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. It's easy to snag, and it starts to pill a bit, even right out of the box. Also, if you get the light - colored version, sweat stains show up like crazy, just like in pic three. If you're a heavy sweater, watch out.
Overall, the shirt's design, cut, and fabric are top - notch, just like you'd expect from Arc'teryx. But the sizing is really off. My advice? Go try it on in a store before you buy.
