Arc'teryx Rho Lightweight Wool Beanie review
I've got a bunch of Arc'teryx hats already, but when I laid eyes on this one, I just couldn't help myself. The price was such a steal, I mean, it was like getting a great deal on a really cool piece of gear.
It's made from Merino wool, and it's so soft to the touch. No prickliness at all, which is a huge plus. And the thickness is just right – not too thick, not too thin. I thought it'd be perfect for my autumn and winter runs. I actually had a black one of these before, but I lost it during a mountain - climbing trip. Such a bummer. But when I saw this one was on sale, I grabbed two. Turns out, they only had L - XL sizes left. My head's on the small side, so it's a bit big for me. A friend took the dark - colored one, and now I'm left with this light - colored one. I'm trying to find someone who'd love to have it. I guess I'll just have to wait for the next sale to get an S - sized one.
This hat is seriously great. It's light as a feather, but it keeps you really warm. I wear it not only when I'm running in the fall and winter, but also when I'm hiking or climbing at high altitudes. You know how at high altitudes, it's easy to have a rough time sleeping at night because of altitude sickness, and you get headaches? Well, wearing this hat to sleep makes a big difference. It's so light, you hardly notice it's there, but it keeps you toasty. It's way more comfortable to sleep in than my other Arc'teryx hats. It doesn't feel all bulky or annoying.
Arc'teryx's Rho series is always a winner. It's got the functionality you need and the comfort you want. Everyone loves it, and it's easy to see why. There are so many Arc'teryx hats out there, but if you're looking for something that's comfortable, feels great on your skin, is lightweight, easy to pack away, and doesn't look too flashy but gets the job done, the Rho series is the way to go.
